This Woodie Wagon was purchased from classic car dealer, Hyman Ltd, in 2002 after being restored in the 1990s by the previous Arkansas owner. It is one of the earliest station wagons made after the end of WWII, being the 13th Plymouth wagon produced for the 1946 model year, and features contrasting wood panels.
It was purchased to be used at our summer house “A Stone’s Throw” on Nantucket Island and spent summers on the Island for a number of years. It has been on full time display at our museum since 2010, and driven regularly weather permitting.
All cars in the museum collection are serviced regularly and any issues addressed; to keep them running, reliable, and ready to go. In the last 23 years this Woodie Wagon has had the engine and transmission rebuilt, radio restored, all brake components replaced, carburetor rebuilt, electric fuel pump installed, a second brake/tail light installed, and both brake/tail lights upgraded with halogen bulbs.
