I’ve raced this TR3 for over 25 years and it’s time for someone else to enjoy the excitement of racing old British Sports Cars. Soon to be listed on Bring A Trailer online auction site.
HISTORY: We purchased this Triumph TR3A vintage race car in early 1993 from Wire Wheel Classic Sports Cars.Later that year it was raced at the Mid-Ohio Vintage Grand Prix, the Gran Prix Au Grattan, and the Watkins Glen U.S. Vintage Grand Prix.Subsequently it was shipped to English Autosports in Stuart, FL for service and modifications.Glen Efinger of English Autosports is the “go-to” shop for race winning Triumph TR3s and has maintained, refreshed, and modified this TR3 since.
Over the years this TR3 has been continuously improved and upgraded to the point it is one of the fastest TR3s in the country. We won the coveted Triumph Kasner Cup twice; Road Atlanta in 2005 and Blackhawk Farms in 2017.
We have tried to keep the looks of this TR3 as original and period correct as possible. The dashboard has mostly authentic Triumph gauges and instruments.Modern gauges have been hidden behind the glove box door.Original headlights are installed, but not working, and taped over for safety like was done in early years of sports car racing. The body is all-steel Triumph TR3A body panels with a few period correct modifications. The engine is an original Triumph 4-cylinder.
It has been accepted and raced with the following sanctioning bodies:
SVRA; VSCDA; VDCA; HSR; PVGP; PIBRRR; VARAC; HPVGP; VIR; VSCCA
