1996 Porsche 911 (993) Turbo
This Porsche 911 Turbo was purchased new from Reeves Import Motorcars, Tampa, Florida, and delivered 3/16/95. The Maintenance Booklet shows dealer service through 1999 with the last service at 40,000 miles.
In 2000 it was sold to and owner in California and on 3/26/01 at 43,000 miles the Maintenance Booklet notes a 60,000-mile service was performed. In 2002 it was sold to an owner in Mississippi with approximately 48,000 miles, and dealer serviced through 2005. It was purchased by the current Ohio owner in April 2005 with 57,000 miles.
In 2006 at 59,000 miles the left turbo was replaced at a local shop. In 2012 it developed a turbo overheating issue and the local shop identified a damaged piston. Over an extended period, the bottom end was rebuilt (reportedly at Ollie’s), the turbos were sent out for a rebuild, new OE heads were purchased, along with new Carillo rods. The shop never got the job completely done and eventually the car and all parts were taken to Porsche of Ann Arbor for completion. After many thousands of dollars and over 90 hours of labor it was ready to go in July 2023 at 65,000 miles. The front bumper cover was recently replaced and repainted. Current medical issues require it to be sold. It will be listed soon on Bring A Trailer online auction site.
