HISTORY: This Jaguar XK8 was purchased new at his local Jaguar dealer Kempthorn Motors, Canton, Ohio, in May 1997. As a Ford supplier at the time he was given a purchase discount to support the introduction Jaguar’s newest sports car (owned by Ford at the time). Even with the discount he paid over $64,000 for the car. It was driven infrequently and serviced as needed. After 24 years of ownership he has too many cars and running out of garage space so it is time to move on to a new caretaker.
MODIFICATIONS: No modifications.
ISSUES/PROBLEMS: The windshield mounted rear view mirror is discolored.
RUST: Light surface rust on suspension components and exhaust.
SERVICE RECORDS: Owner receipts since new.
LAST SERVICE: Oil/filter service, brake fluid flush, and coolant refresh September 2021.
PAINT/BODY: The original British Racing Green paint is in good condition having been detailed frequently. The body is original and undamaged.
INTERIOR: The original Coffee Connolly leather seating is in like new condition along with the matching carpeting. The dash and console are in like new condition.
CHASSIS/ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN: The original 290HP 4.0L V8 engine and the ZF 5-speed automatic transmission are in excellent condition. All chassis components are like new with only some light surface rust. The differential is quiet and all fluids are up to spec.
WHEELS/TIRES: The 17”X8” alloy wheels are in great condition with no curb marks or corrosion. The 245/50R17 Pirelli P2 Cinturato all season tires were installed in 2016 with only 600 miles since, and lots of tread.
